ACS224   Systems Laboratory and Design   (10 credits)

Year Running: 2015/2016
Credit level: F5

Description

This module aims to further develop the laboratory and professional skills of students in system and control engineering. The module includes five laboratories, which focus on the modelling, design, implementation and testing of feedback controllers, and use industry-standard software (LabVIEW). Students will also gain an appreciation of ethical issues that can arise in engineering practice and be familiarised with the guiding principles for engineers set out by the Royal Academy of Engineering. Communication skills are developed, with students planning and delivering short presentations on a topic of their choice within the scope of systems and control engineering, and also participating in critical appraisal via peer observation.
